UTA Moves — UTA’s 30-year Long-Range Transit Plan (LRTP) — is shaped through collaboration with our partners and communities and sets the stage for transforming public transit across the Wasatch Front over the next 30 years. The LRTP process is focused on enhancing mobility and accessibility for everyone, ensuring our services become more frequent, reliable, and effective. Updated every 4 years, the LRTP provides a vision for the future and will guide priorities around public transportation.
Initially established in 2023 for the 2050 timeframe, the plan is now being updated to the 2027–2055 timeframe. UTA Moves 2055 will include:
- Updates to the 2050 plan incorporating cost analysis; local and regional models; project phasing and prioritization on the 5-, 10-, 20-, and 30-year timeframes; and future corridor preservation needs.
- New to the 2055 planning process is a cost-effectiveness study and cost–benefit analysis. We will also identify UTA facility needs associated with prioritized projects.
