If you have received a citation from UTA, the fine can be paid by cash, check, e-check, or credit card. The amount paid will be applied to the citation. You are responsible for confirming that you have satisfied all outstanding fines.

For convenience, there are several options available to resolve the citation.

Online Payment

Pay the citation amount in full with a credit card or e-check on our payment website.



If you wish to make alternative arrangements for payment, you may contact the UTA Public Hearing Officer at 801-287-2601. You may also make an appointment to meet with the Hearing Officer.

Take the Public Safety Class

To take advantage of a possible fine reduction by taking the Public Safety Class, you must first contact the Public Hearing Officer (801-287-2601). If you fail to make contact in advance for this option, you may not get credit for the class.



Only take the public safety class after speaking with the Public Hearing Officer

Purchase a FAREPAY Card

To take advantage of the FAREPAY card option, you must first contact the Public Hearing Officer (801-287-2601). If you fail to make contact in advance for this option, you may not get credit for any purchase you’ve made because this option is only applicable for certain fare violations.

In-Person Payment

Pay the citation amount in full in-person at any UTA customer service location:


  • Ogden Transit Center (2393 Wall Avenue, Ogden)
  • Salt Lake City Customer Service Center (3600 South 700 West, Salt Lake City)
  • Provo Central Station (701 South Freedom Boulevard)

If you feel you have been wrongfully cited and would like to protest the citation, please contact the Public Hearing Officer at 801-287-2601.
